There is no signal in the basement, how did you solve it? Does it help if I buy a signal booster?

Hey there @Signal.

Many factors can limit signal strength, especially if you're indoors, other factors are topography, environmental conditions and line of sight to towers to name a few, there may also be tower congestions in your area.

When facing network issues, there are a few troubleshooting steps to complete:

  • Make sure your device is updated to it's latest version.
  • Assure your SIM is not damaged and also inserted correctly in the SIM tray.
  • Is the issue only happening indoors, or does it occur outdoors as well?

The signal in my home is very weak and sometimes I cannot even place or receive calls, send or receive messages - other people in the same apartment building using Rogers don't have any issues - turning airplane mode on/off usually brings the phone back to a working state, although the signal is still on the low end - I read online that my several years old SIM card could be an issue. Is it worth trying a new SIM?
