I was wondering how the payout for the referral payment is applied?
I referred a friend a earlier this year and I've been getting charged my usual amount on my cc, but the account balance is increasing by $5 each month. How do I get the amount to apply to my bill rather than just accumulate?

Hi there @quig22
Thanks for your post. 🙂
Do you and your friend have auto top-up enabled for your accounts? Outstanding credits on your account will not be used so long as auto top-up enabled - we have a useful thread here on using account credit for payment with more details.

Hey Meow,
Positive current balance on prepaid means that you can use the balance.
Lucky Mobile tried to update the current balance usage procedure (Current balance should be used first before charging the remaining amount to the auto top up), on May 02, 2023. However, the implementation of the same has not been to the effect to many customers. Even if the customers have a current balance, the auto top is fully charged for the plan.
In your case, what I would recommend now is, keep the balance to accumulate to the point where it is sufficient to cover your plan. So that month, whenever it is sufficient, the plan should renew from the current balance completely and not charge to the auto top up card. This way you also retain the auto top up bonus, while also using the full current balance.
In the other case where the above scenario doesn't work, and you want to use the current balance ASAP, you can remove the auto top up right away and manually top up for the remaining amount. For example you have a $15 current balance right now, and you have a plan for $35. So, just cancel the auto top up and manually top up another $20 (you can do it on the app by selecting the "top up by credit/debit card" from the Balance section) and make the current balance of $35. The upcoming month, the current balance will be used to renew the plan (as you already cancelled auto top up). However, the downside of this is that you loose the auto top up bonus.
The third way is to use the balance to buy service passes (not the add-ons), when you are out of the data.
Hopefully my answer helps 🙂

I have a dilemma. I used the "refer a friend" promotion and my friend and I are receiving the $5/mth credit to our accounts. The only problem is we can't use it. Unless, of course, you want to spend it on international calling or to buy extra calling minutes. Neither of those we need. But we would like to be able to use it to buy extra "data" or to pay our monthly bill but it's not permitted on our plan. ($15/100mins) So needless to say I won't be using the "refer a friend" again. In the meantime, I have this monthly credit going into my account but can't use it.

Yes we both use the auto top up and with that comes 250 MB of data which I wouldn't want to lose.

So my understanding is that when I cancel the auto top up my monthly bill will be paid from the balance in my account. The balance has enough for 3 payments. After that can I go back to Auto Top up and receive the 250 mb of data again?

Good morning, @quig22.
That is correct, yes. 🙂
