Hey there @Dee1 ,
Welcome to the Community and good questions.
When seeing SOS on your screen, only calls to the emergency services are permitted. SOS is also a good sign that your phone as lost connection to the network and a quick restart (fully power off your phone and back on shortly after) should allow your phone to regain access.
We also invite you to check out Troubleshooting on LuckingMobile.ca for more tips and tricks when facing issues with your service.

I recently bought a phone and as soon as i got it I immediately transferred my lucky sim card in in it. Suddenly, it said "SOS" or "No Service" on my phone. I tried putting it back to my old one but still "No Service". Any of you guys know what might be the problem?

So first of all, I topped up my acount a week ago and it worked perfectly like usual but 2 days ago I noticed my phone had died. I charged it then when it turned on I had "no service" or "emergency calls only". No service oncesoever. Again, I PAID and my bill was not due for days later. I tried troubleshooting, restarting my phone, toggling airplane mode on and off, trying different network settings, waiting to see if the issue would fix itself, etc. I've tried everything I could find from online sources and even went to the store but they wanted me to pay for a physical sim. Yes its inexpensive but I shouldnt have to pay for something that stopped working, its not my fault. So I declined.
I'm hoping I can get this fixed soon, I've missed important calls from work, worried my family, etc. All to find out my phone randomly decided to stop working!! No 10G data, unlimited texting or calls. I pay for all of that for $34 a month. I'm forced to use free apps like TextNow to make calls over WiFi currently until this is fixed. I recommend using those free apps like TextNow in the meantime as they allow you to make calls, send and receive texts as long as you have a stable WiFi connection.
If you experience this issues you're not the only one and you do NOT need to purchase a new phone entirely. Lucky should be able to fix this or send a FREE sim if their esims stop working. Otherwise the only reasonable thing to do is switching to Bell which is through the same carrier. That way you should be able to transfer phone numbers without much trouble but keep in mind you wont get Luckys prices.
If anyone has any tips on how to solve this issue please let me and the community know! No one wants to wake up with no phone service when they need it. I hope this helps post helps others in the future.
