Hey there @mc,
Welcome to the Community and thanks for your post.
Most phones will work as long as it is compatible with our network and already unlocked by your/its previous provider. The availability of some services may differ depending on your phone.
Your phone must be compatible with LTE AWS (1700 MHz) or LTE 700 MHz bands, or UMTS/HSPA compatible on 850/1900 MHz bands. See your phone’s user guide for information about network compatibility.

I activated my new SIM card and account, yesterday but cannot get service, I.e “No Service” or “No SIM Card - Emergency Calls Only” is displayed on my old phone, a Moto G 2014 2nd Gen. I tried the SIM in my new phone and it is recognized. My old phone works with UMTS/HSPA compatible on 850/1900 MHz bands, so it should work with Lucky Mobile. I’ve tried rebooting, reinserting the SIM card, clearing the cache, turning Airplane mode off/on, etc. but nothing gives Service.
Any suggestions for getting service?

Thanks, my phone is unlocked and works on the bands you specify. The same phone has worked on Public Mobile, Speakout and PetroCan Mobility, so it should work at Lucky.
Any other suggestions to get it working?

Thanks for sharing these details @Rhizomatic , as you've confirmed the SIM is active and functional in your new phone, that tells us the SIM is activated. If your Moto G 2014 2nd Gen doesn't recognise the network check your APN settings to ensure they're correct.

I am purchasing a new phone. Does it need to support all the bands that Lucky lists? Or is supporting 1 enough?
Lucky says you need: Your phone must be compatible with LTE AWS (1700 MHzmegahertz) or LTE 700 MHzmegahertz bands, or UMTS/HSPA compatible on 850/1900 MHz
The phone supports (from manufacture):
- 4G FDD-LTE: Band: B1/ 3/ 5/7/ 8/ 19/ 20/ B40
- 3G WCDMA: 900 / 2100 MHZ
- 2G GSM: 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz
Support as listed by another site:
- GSM: 850 900 1800 1900
- HSDPA: 850 900 2100 HSPA+
- LTE: LTE-FDD: 1800, 2100, 2600
Is matching on HSPA 850 enough? Or would it need both 850/1900? I really like the phone. It is rugged, and small 🙂
Thank you.

Does lucky mobile have options to accept a phone that is still on contract with another company? I cant stand telus and would really love to switch back to lucky, especially if the balance owed is still available to me like I was told it would be

I activated lucky mobile sim on Redmi 9 Global phone after checking compatibility through IMEI. Data and messages are working fine but voice calls can not be made/received. Phone is set on LTE. There is no problem if I use Chatter Mobile/Reger sims.I have already gone thru all the steps mentioned in lucky mobile check list and even turned down VoLTE. There no call barring, no airplane mode, resetted data, switched off anf then on the phone, did factory reset, without any positive result.

Hello, I am using a HONOR X7a (Model: RKY-LX2) with my Lucky Mobile SIM. The SIM works in other phones, but on this phone, I cannot make or receive calls. Network shows "Lucky", but calls fail. Can you confirm if this phone model is compatible with your network bands (especially LTE Band 4/66)? Thank you.
