I succesfully installed and activated a lucky sim on my unlocked phone. all is working fine. under what circumstances would I need to unlock the SIM card? thx

I successfully activate the SIM and a few hours later I receive the first SMS. good, the phone is working. to my astonishment, it's a spam/scam sms.
