Is it possible to pause service for a few months when out of the country, then resume service when I return? I don't want to cancel and lose my phone number, just to start a new one again when I get back in the country.

yes, as per their current policy one can hold a mobile number for 04 months, Just stop recharging it. Chatr mobile was holding this one for 06 months and now 03 months. But Lucky mobile is giving one month extra as compare to the others at present.

Yep, and here's the link to their Terms of Service explaining service suspension, and cancelation after 4 months.

Hey there @Steve P ,
Welcome to the community and great question.
Yes, you can pause your Lucky Mobile service for two months and resume it later. Since it is a prepaid service, you can stop service simply by not paying your monthly charge.
Here is how you can manage this:
- Turn off Automatic Top-Up: If you have this feature enabled, cancel it in the My Account app under your profile's billing settings to prevent future charges while you are away.
- The 120-Day Limit: Once your account balance reaches $0 and you miss a payment, your service is suspended. Lucky Mobile will hold your phone number for 120 days (4 months). Since you only need to pause for 2 months, your number will remain safe.
- Pick Up Service: To resume, just log in to My Account and top up your account with enough funds to cover your plan. Your service will typically be restored within an hour of payment.
- New Billing Date: When you top up again, the date of that payment will become your new Monthly Charge Date going forward.
Important: If you go beyond 120 days without topping up, your account will be permanently deactivated, and you will lose your phone number and require a new SIM card to start again.

If I'm not using my number for a while, but keeping some credit in my account, will I be able to keep my number for more than 120 days? Is it 120 days from the day my balance drops to $0? Or is it 90 days? Is any credit in my account (even if insufficient) automatically deducted to go towards the plan selected at the beginning of the billing period? What if I top up after the beginning of the billing period? Will it automatically go towards the selected plan? Do I go "into debt" having selected a plan that I'm not using and will I have to pay for inactive months later? Thank you!

Did you end up keeping your number? My daughter is studing in the US and getting an american sim card. If I let it go and pay before the 120 days I wonder if I need to pay for all 120 days of just for the month to keep the number.
It says
If you fail to make a payment for 120 consecutive days, we will deactivate your account and your number will be released. If you were able to make a payment to cover the full balance within 120 days, your account will be reactivated automatically within 1 hour. The funds added to your account balance are not refundable. If you’d like to reactivate your Lucky Mobile service, you’ll need a new SIM Card or eSIM (if you have a compatible phone) and a new phone number will be assigned to you.
