Weak indoor signal

Indoor my phone indicated reception 1 out of 5 bars. I can neither call nor receive calls.  Tried to turn to wifi-calls but no luck.  Any help is appreciated.

Many thanks.

re: I'm using iPhone 8+, Lucky mobile plan $30/month, 3G, 1GB data... since 2021.  No problem before.  My location is on 4/F behind Park Royal, West Vancouver.  Can oversee distant buildings.  Blockage is not envisaged.

Hey Base,

I cannot provide you the most accurate and appropriate answer for this, however, you went on a correct path to choose wifi calling as it helps when there is low connectivity, but unfortunately Lucky Mobile does not have a wifi calling feature. Thus, even if the iPhone 8 supports wifi calling, Lucky Mobile will not be connected to it.

The other thing i can also recommend you is, go to settings in your iPhone, then head on over to general>about and stay in the about section for 30 seconds (assuming you are connected to a wifi network while doing this), you will see a pop up for a carrier update (if you have got any). Carrier update helps to fix some of the connectivity issues. You can also search the procedure on youtube.

Hopefully you might be able to find any other solution for the connectivity fix.

Thank you MK4753 for your prompt reply.  Got it -- Lucky mobile does not support wifi calls.  Following your suggestion I did the carrier updates.  At 06:30, tried to call myself outside of the building.  Surprisingly my call was directed to voice mail even it is outdoor.  As suggested, it's about time swapping to other service providers.

Since the day when Lucky Mobile was alerted to my reception problem, i.e. took a long time for calls and when someone calls one was redirected to voicemail, their technical support was dispatched to investigate.  Miraculously the problem was gone and reception was back to normal.  Thank you Lucky Mobile for the wonderful work.

Glad to hear that. At least now you can enjoy the Lucky's Services better than ever.

Any idea what they did to fix it? I've been in the same situation for a while now and it's getting tiresome

My wild guess is one of the transmission stations was down.  Somehow they fixed it without making a loud noise.  Now a proper reception is back.  Let LuckyMobile know for an investigate and a probable fix.  Blessings.

Hi there, @Davidm189. Thank you for your post. 🙂

We wanted to check in and see if you had still been experiencing issues with your reception. If so, have you had the chance to speak to Tech Support and open a ticket for investigation? Were they able to provide you any further details at to the issue at hand?

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Hi , tech support opened an investigation but had no idea on the cause or time frame to fix the issue.

Hi @Davidm189, all in a sudden the weak signal issue and/or slow response of calling_voice mail were resolved.  Didn't know the reason why.  base

I have been with Lucky going on 4 months now and my signal has been very weak. I get one tiny bar, once in awhile two. When I text I have to wait for it to be sent, often all I get is a cannot send message and have to try again. Calls are usually weak, having to tell people "sorry what was that, please repeat." Usually no signal inside a store or in the mall. The price of service at $25.00 is great but to have such a poor signal all the time makes me wonder whether to switch to another company or not.

Please respond as soon as possible

Ty.

I have the same issue with receiving calls and data. most of my calls go to voicemail without rings. people say can't call me and I am right next to them. I took the lucky sim and chatr sim and did a comparison in the parking lot. chatr has a weak signal and lucky has no signal (SOS) in the downtown area. I tested both the 3g and 4g plan. any idea why Bell says it has 99% population coverage
