Initially was on lucky $50 -3G plan and recently moved to $55 4G plan. After new plan took effect, Im still seeing 3G speeds. I have rebooted the phone, reset the APN and still none of them seem to work. Went outdoors to a very a good coverage and tested it and see speeds being capped at 3 Mbps from the speed test results clearly. Does anyone know how to get 4G speeds, which lucky promises - upto 50X, because, all I'm seeing is exactly the same 3G speeds

Hey there @marc55,
Welcome to the Community and thanks for your post.
When upgrading to one of our 4G plan, a small delay may occur before you notice a change (shouldn't pass 24 to 48 hours).
You can give the below a look/try to make sure your phone is setup properly;
- Once the plan is changed and paid, fully power off your phone and turn it back on again (restart).
- Check in your network settings to ensure your network selection is set to 4G/LTE or on Auto.
- Refresh/reset your network settings.
Once checked and/or updated, let the Community know how it went.

It seems like the problem is only in vancouver metro area. I observed that when i went to montreal the problem simply disappeared. Unfortunately, this is not acceptable for me and hence i decided to move to a different carrier altogether who can provide more reliable speeds where i live.

I recently upgraded to one of Lucky Mobile's new 4g plans. The marketing literature suggested that 4g is up to 50 times faster than 3g. I got the chance to try this out when not on my home wifi network and was extremely disappointed to discover that I was getting no better speeds than my previous 3g account. I couldn't even open most web pages due to the images they have on the page. I couldn't get the damned speed test to run to get a diagnostic! On searching the forums I discovered that Lucky Mobile is throttling the 4g plans to 3g speeds. Isn't this false advertising, given the suggestion of '50 times the speed'? If not it's certainly damned shady business practice. I'll be looking for a replacement plan with another service provider.

I'm having the same issue. My plan was just switched to a 4G plan yesterday, but still getting 3G speeds when on mobile data (wifi turned off). I've restarted my phone multiple times.
I'm in Guelph, ON.
