Auto Top Up vs Actual Cost of Monthly Service

Hi...I just joined Lucky today, and one thing I'm struggling to understand is the auto top up system. When I set it up, the text beneath the button says: "We will automatically charge your credit card, Visa Debit or bank account every month to cover your Plan and Add-Ons."

But it seems that my only option is to add preset amounts of funds, in $5 increments, to automatically drop into my account so it remains active. And I believe I have to choose the higher increment so that taxes are covered (so for my $25 plan I need to choose a $30 top up or else my plan will be disabled). Is this really how it works?

Is there a way to have the exact amount of my service plus tax simply charged to my credit card?

The way it seems to work (unless I've missed something, which is why I'm asking here) means that every month I'll have a little extra money transferred into my Lucky account and effectively locked away since the terms say amounts are non-refundable. I really hope this isn't the case.

Thanks for your help!

I am replying to my own question.
After doing some search and confirming with Support Rep on chat, the best way is to setup for the lowest monthly topup, let say $10. Apparently if the topup is lower then the amount due, luckymobile will charge the due amount and not suspend your account. I will test it next billing cycle. I hope this works!

That's a very interesting approach if it works. Please let us know the results. Thanks!

I just signed up with an ESIM on the $28 Unlimited Can Min 3GB 4G plan for new customers.

I want to set up auto top up for $28 month, but it doesn't give me the option, only $25 or $30 (or other increments in $5)

I don't understand this, shouldn't it give me the option to choose $28 every month, given I am on a $28 plan? What happens if I choose auto top up of $25 ?

It's also showing my 'current balance' is zero, even though in 'payment history' I can see I have paid $28 today

Can someone explain this confusing system? Thanks.

Hello Silky,

Scroll through and read my posts in this thread and I think they'll help you understand how the Lucky system works and how I deal with it. It works for me.
