I NEED URGENT HELP PLEASE!
I got a basic Lucky Mobile account *specifically* because it says I would be able to receive "Canada-wide and international text messages". I don't require data, or roaming, or need to send any SMS messages, but it's urgent that I be able to receive SMS messages from banking institutions etc. to verify purchases and log into secure websites overseas. I'm currently in Peru, and am unable to make some critical purchases on my credit card, because the phone number connected to my bank account is the lucky mobile number, and I'm not getting the security codes they are texting me!
This was the only reason I signed up for this service as I am predominately out of the country and don't really use my phone in Canada. For complete info, I am also using an eSim simultaneously for data here in Peru, but my canada number can't send or receive any texts. Please help!!!!!

To elaborate, I've recently moved to China from Canada and suddenly find myself partially cut off from my Canadian bank account because the Canadian bank (Simplii Financial) wants to confirm a transaction by texting me a code. The problem is that none of the texts are reaching me, so every transaction I try to make is being cancelled because I'm not receiving the security code I need to input into the app. This is rather frightening because I need to pay people and make investments. Can anyone help me?

Hey Shamousk,
Probably the reply wont be beneficial to you right now, however, I will still reply in case some other person encounters a similar situation.
Lucky Mobile DOES NOT WORK OUTSIDE CANADA!!.
It says you can receive international texts, however, that refers to the texts you get from any other country, if you are in canada. For example I can get Texts from China, India, USA, Peru, etc. on my Canadian Lucky mobile number while I am in Canada. Also almost all plan have worldwide texts included so that means you can send SMS texts to anywhere in the world from Canada.

Hey China,
Sorry to hear that but, unfortunately Lucky Mobile does not offer any services outside Canada. So you wont be able to do ANYTHING outside Canada including receiving texts, as it is not connected to the Lucky Mobile towers (Bell Network)

“Also included: Unlimited Incoming Calls & Texts from Canadian, US & International numbers.”
My coverage is listed above but why don’t I receive any texts from my bank in Canada after moving to China?

Hey China,
“Also included: Unlimited Incoming Calls & Texts from Canadian, US & International numbers.”
Refers to the international texts (That someone can text you from anywhere in the world) you can receive their texts on your Lucky Mobile number as long as you are connected to the Lucky Mobile network (Meaning inside Canada).
I have also explained this in my previous reply that, "It says you can receive international texts, however, that refers to the texts you get from any other country, if you are in Canada. For example I can get Texts from China, India, USA, Peru, etc. on my Canadian Lucky mobile number while I am in Canada. Also almost all plan have worldwide texts included so that means you can send SMS texts to anywhere in the world from Canada."
This means you can send and receive international texts, but you need to be in Canada (Connected to Lucky Mobile network) in order to receive or send messages and calls.
I feel sad that you paid already but unfortunately there is no way to receive texts while you are in China. 🙁

My Lucky number is attached to all of my google accounts. I am now outside of Canada. Google is asking me to authenticate my ID via text message sent to my number - but Lucky does not provide data roaming so I can't receive text messages. How do I navigate this?

Hey dhann,
Basically you cant get sms until you are back to Canada, but there is one way you can get over it by asking someone to buy a Lucky Mobile SIM here in Canada and send you the picture of the SIM EID. You can then give a call to customer service and do a SIM replacement. If you do so, the new SIM card in Canada will became active and you can ask the authorised person who bought the SIM for you to give the verification messages.
I only recommend this for worse case scenarios as this involves losing the access of your account and getting activated and operated by a different person (your friend or family member).

- This is my first smartphone, so I'm still new at this. I'll be taking a trip soon and am wondering if I'll be able to use my phone overseas. If not, what do I need to do or set up to be able to make calls, send texts, access data, etc., while I'm there?

I plan to travel to the United States from June 15th to June 20th. I need to use my cell phone data there. What should I do? Can I change the usage fee?
