Samsung zlip6 Esim what happen if i factory reset?

Hello,

I got hacked recently and for security reason I removed my phone number from 2fa security stuff online then I heard of esim and my current zflip 6 Android phone support both physical sim card and esim so I created an account with lucky same phone so now I have both working  on it.

For security reason I wipe my phone every few weeks. What happen with my esim number when I factory my z flip 6 Samsung phone?

Edit: I read online that if I reset my phone. I need to go into a store to restore the esim?? Are you serious? I activated it online myself why would I need to go to a store to put it back on same phone if I reset my phone. Please tell me it's not true.

This is partly incorrect! At least for samsung phone! After reading about it on samsung forums, I decided to give a shot and factory reset my Z flip 6 and like stated on the forum (samsung)  - last option before official wiping the phone it ask you if you want to keep the eSim data or not. If you do, the phone factory reset like normal but once its back to setup menu (like a new phone) your esim info are still there and it pop up like any other normal sim card info.

So technically unless you click 'erase my eSim date' upon factory reset - you don't require any one to reset your phone.

Also, iv seen (but not tried) on the LuckyMobile app under settings that you can re-setup your esim information and it will prompt you to connect to wifi, like initial setup when you subscribe for the 1st time so AS LONG as its the same device it says... So honestly i am not even sure even then that we would require someone ! I mean .. If I switch to another phone then maybe yah, I need in-person validation with ID (which is normal). But unless i change device i am 100% autonomous and can do what i want with my phone.

This is a good news for me who reset my phone every month of so for security reason.

Hi there, @John316. Welcome to the Lucky Mobile Community, and thanks for your post.

What you've read is correct. Recovering your eSIM requires secondary validation, which would normally be done via a 2FA text message. However as you would not be connected to said eSIM, you would not be able to receive the 2FA code. The next option for identity validation after this is going to a Lucky Mobile retail store with a valid piece of photo ID to override the need for 2FA.

While we understand it may be inconvenient at times, it's a necessary security step to make sure our users are safe and secure with Lucky Mobile.

Let us know if you have any further questions.
