Hi there, @Momtoagirl. Welcome to the Lucky Mobile Community.
As of Dec. 3rd, 2024, RCS is now supported with Lucky Mobile. Please take the time to review the eligibility requirements below:
- Any user must be connected to a local cellular network or Wi-Fi.
Google / Android | Apple | |
Eligible Devices |
Any Android device | iPhone XS Series or newer |
Operating System | Android 5.0 or higher | iOS 18.0 or higher |
Required App | Google Messages |
For Android device users unsure how to take advantage, take a look at these set-up instructions.
Enable RCS for the first time
Customers must complete the following steps to enable RCS chats for the first time:
- On your device, open Google Messages.
- Select Get Started, then select Next.
- To keep Google Messages connected, select Yes.
Turn RCS off or on
After enabling RCS chats for the first time, customers can switch RCS on or off by completing the following steps:
- On your device, open Google Messages.
- At the top right of your display, select your profile picture or icon, and then select Messages settings.
- Select RCS chats.
Note: If you can't find RCS chats, tap Chat features. - Turn RCS chats on or off.
Turn specific RCS features on or off
With Google Messages, users can control certain app features, including enabling (or disabling) read receipts and typing indicators, and choosing how to resend a message in if RCS fails or is not available.
To access these controls:
- On your device, open Google Messages.
- Select your profile picture or icon and then select Messages settings.
- Select RCS chats.
Note: If you can't find RCS chats, select Chat features. - Select the feature you want to turn on or off (for example, Show typing indicators, Send read receipts, or Automatic resend as text).
Note: If you turn on Automatic resend as text (SMS/MMS), you’ll get a warning that messages sent as SMS/MMS aren’t end-to-end encrypted but that messages will switch back when the RCS chat features reconnect. If that’s okay with you, select Allow.
Lastly for Apple device users, below are the instructions to enable and disable RCS services:
iPhones (Messages)
In order to use RCS on an iPhone, users must run iOS version 18.0 on their device. With iOS 18.0, RCS support is automatically enabled in the Messages app.
Turn RCS support on or off
- On your iPhone, open Settings.
- Select Apps
- Select Messages
- Slide the RCS Messaging toggle to off or on.
We appreciate all the feedback we've received from Lucky Mobile users in regards to RCS in the past. With this new addition, we hope you enjoy this and your service with Lucky Mobile even more. 🙂
Best wishes.

For anyone getting stuck on setting up trying to verify number, I figured out how to get connected. You need to go to: Settings/Apps/Special app access/Unrestricted data and turn it on for Messages.

Hello I have been in contact with Live Support Agent and Phone Technical Support too. I have diagnosed or try to troubleshoot myself everything by myself and with them too also. I am on the verge of filing a CCTS Complaint. They all suggesting it is a Google Problem and not the network. They gave me a Google Support number that has been disontinued. They think they know everything.
