I set my husband up with his own Lucky account on my old iphone but I am unable to call him from my cellphone. I get a "caller is temporarily unavailable message. He can call me, and I can text him but phone calls from my cell won't go thru to his.  Nobody else is getting this message when calling him.  Any advice?

Hey there @EGCF2016 ,

Welcome to the community and thanks for your post.

This issue seems specific to calls originating from your phone to your husband's Lucky Mobile account. Here's a breakdown of potential causes and troubleshooting steps:

Blocked Number:

  • Check his phone: Verify that your number isn't accidentally blocked on his iPhone. Go to Phone app > Contacts > Your Name > Block this Caller (if it shows "Unblock this Caller," you're currently blocked). Also check Settings > Phone > Blocked Contacts.

Lucky Mobile Account Issues:

  • Account Status: Confirm his Lucky Mobile account is active and in good standing (no billing issues, etc.). He can check this through the Lucky Mobile app or website.
  • Call Forwarding/Restrictions: Ensure there are no accidental call forwarding settings or call restrictions enabled on his Lucky Mobile account that might affect incoming calls from your number. This is less likely, but worth checking.

Your Phone's Settings:

  • Conditional Call Forwarding: Check your phone's call forwarding settings. Sometimes, misconfigured conditional call forwarding (e.g., forward when busy, unanswered) can cause unexpected issues.
  • Carrier Settings: In rare cases, incorrect carrier settings on your phone can cause call issues. You can try resetting your network settings (Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings). Note: This will erase saved Wi-Fi passwords.

iMessage/FaceTime Interference:

  • Deregister iMessage: Because you both used the same iPhone previously, there might be some lingering association with iMessage or FaceTime. On his iPhone, go to Settings > Messages and turn off iMessage. Then, go to Settings > FaceTime and turn off FaceTime. After a few minutes, turn them back on. This forces the iPhone to re-register with Apple's servers.
